My

You may have seen posts about the campaign for academic mitigation on Overheard at Exeter, Exefess or even being shared by one of your friends. I have been at the forefront of this campaign all year. On my own social media, you will see how active I have been - and continue to be - in campaigning for students' academic rights during the Covid-19 crisis. I have been interviewed, written pieces for outlets and even appeared on national news - all in fighting for OUR academic rights.

I have also received correspondence from both Ben Bradshaw (the MP for Exeter) as well as my local MP who have passed on my comments to Gavin Williamson and the Secretary of State - but my campaigning has not stopped there.

Below you can read some of the interviews and pieces I have written for various news outlets to bring national attention to the campaign for academic mitigation. I hope these pieces give you an insight into my passion and commitment to this cause and to student's rights in general. With your vote, I hope to use this passion to continue supporting next year's students through Covid-19 policies and more.

TheTAB has a huge reach across the student population so their coverage of the campaign was very exciting as I hoped this would bring our petition to the attention of university students around the UK. I spoke to them about the lack of support, tuition fees as well as how academic mitigation might help to alleviate the student mental heath crisis. They have contacted me several times on a variety of topics which you can see below:

Wonkhe is THE place to open up discussion on anything relating to Higher Education. I was very excited to write a piece for them in the hopes of reaching more members of senior teams at UK universities and opening up the conversation around what more universities could be doing to support students academically.

Current President of Winchester SU, Megan Ball, wrote a powerful piece on 'The reluctant student activists of the Covid pandemic' in which she mentioned our work at S4AM after working on some events together.

POI is a great place to read opinions from across the political spectrum. I enjoyed this interview with my co-founder of S4AM as a great opportunity to speak about what drove us to campaign so hard over the course of the year. The interview tells you a bit about why we started the campaign and what our hopes are moving forward!

WestCountry Bylines reached out to hear more about the sense of abandonment amongst students, both by the government and their own institutions. As this was a regional outlet, it was a good way of reaching local people and explaining the student plight to them, as well as possibly getting the attention of the University itself.
