Academic mitigation policies seem to imply that staff haven't worked hard enough this year or haven't done a good enough job in what are very difficult circumstances for everybody.

As part of my work with the Guild this year, we actually secured a statement of support from the Exeter branch of UCU, which I  drafted. You can read the statement in full here.

Academic mitigation policies would cheapen our degrees - I'm doing really well this year, I don't see the need for these policies which seemingly give away good grades.
